The Rules of the Beach 

General common sense, consideration, kindness and safety efforts should always be used at the beach.

• Never leave refuse behind - yours or a litterbug's.
• Never go in or allow pets to go in the dunes.
• Always use proper bathroom facilities.
• When lighting a grill, cigarette, etc consider your neighbors downwind.
• The beach is not an ashtray; dispose of your butts.
• Keep pets on a leash.
• Mind your children near the water.
• Park properly and do not block access for others.
• Ensure you have the proper permits for the beach you are accessing.
• And the number one rule of the beach (if you ask my kids): NO THROWING SAND!

Southampton Town Beach permits can be obtained at Town Hall. Southampton Village permits can be obtained at Village Hall.
